July 2013
Darb 1718, Cairo
Khadra is an initiative started by a group of Egyptian women artists in 2012 to offer an event through which like-minded artists could exhibit collectively. Ten Egyptian artists took part in the first show. This year, they decided to organize a second edition, but opened it to artists from other countries in the region, resulting in a dynamic selection of works that subtly allude to recent political developments in the Arab world.
Participating artists: Asmaa Elkolaly (Egypt), Hend Elkolaly (Egypt), Nevien Emam (Egypt), Wesam Quraish (Egypt), Hala Abou Shady (Egypt), Marwa Elshazly (Egypt), Saad (Egypt), Mona Shams (Egypt), Samah Nagy (Egypt), Eman Osama (Egypt), Sarra Ben Attia (Tunisia), Houda Ghorbel (Tunisia), Ymene Chetouane (Tunisia), Waheeda Malullah (Bahrain), and Asma Ghanem (Palestine
